Holiday Movies to Watch in 2025: Classics & New Finds
Illustration: eclareThe holiday season is here, and there’s nothing better than curling up with feel-good, heartwarming movies to watch alone, with pets, or with the people you love. Here's our favorite holiday films:
1) Love Hard
2021 ‧ Comedy/Romance ‧ 1h 45mThis movie is charming and funnnnyyy! It didn’t feel cliche cause the characters aren’t boxed in a stereotype so that made for a refreshing watch. Plus the catfishing and online dating plot made it realistic and relatable. A total must-watch!

PG 2019 ‧ Family/Comedy ‧ 1h 36mNetflix did an awesome job cause the animation alone is stunning! Such a phenomenal take on a Christmas origin story. Everyone should watch this (and yes, the trailer does not do it justice 🥲).

3) That Christmas
PG 2024 ‧ Family/Comedy ‧ 1h 32mAnother Netflix Christmas win! This is such a cute movie with great and interesting characters and funny British sense of humor. A movie that the whole family will surely enjoy.

4) Our Little Secret
PG-13 2024 ‧ Romance/Comedy ‧ 1h 41mOkay, we thought this was going to be a terrible, cheesy movie, but it was actually pretty good and entertaining! It was heart warming, there were some funny chaotic moments and I enjoyed the main characters’ backstory.

5) Something From Tiffany’s
PG 2022 ‧ Romance/Comedy ‧ 1h 27mWhen I saw the trailer, I wasn’t excited to watch it cause I wasn’t sure about the plot. 😆 But I’m so glad I watched it cause I ended up loving it! It shows an honest take on complicated relationships and it made me root for the characters.

6) Bridget Jones’ Diary
R 2001 ‧ Comedy/Romance ‧ 1h 37mThe best and my absolute FAVORITE holiday movie of all time! It’s full of nostalgia and that romantic comedy magic and charm that the early 2000s had. All the characters are saucy, sassy, hysterical and the soundtrack perfection. Highly recommend this. ♥️ Forever a classic!

7) Dr. Seuss' The Grinch

8) Polar Express
G 2004 ‧ Family/Adventure ‧ 1h 39mThis one is not for everybody. 🤣 I first saw this when I was in elementary school and had very mixed emotions but loved it nonetheless. Watched it again as an adult and loved it even more. It is not a typical merry and bright children’s movie but a more mysterious and thrilling take on a Christmas adventure. The kind that feels like a fever dream — it’s amazing, unique, heart warming, and touching. 🔔

9) Love Actually
R 2003 ‧ Comedy/Romance ‧ 2h 10mOne of the best Christmas movies ever! I was skeptical going in because I didn’t want to be disappointed, but it absolutely lives up to the hype. Incredible cast and great storyline. If you haven’t seen it yet, go watch it now!

10) Jingle Heist
PG-13 2025 ‧ Comedy/Romance ‧ 1h 36mI was excited to see Olivia Holt since I loved her on Disney’s I Didn’t Do It. The movie starts on a more somber note, with both main characters struggling in their own ways. The slower, more natural build-up of the romance and the unexpected plot twists (yes, there’s several) was satisfying.

11) The Holiday
PG-13 2006 ‧ Comedy/Romance ‧ 2h 11mWhen me and my sister watched it after a few years it’s been released - we have zero expectations. We didnt even watch it near the holidays, we watched it during the summer haha 19 years later, it’s become one of our ultimate comfort films and a forever favorite.
